Age Concern Solihull Annual Review
2006/2007
In this year's Chairman's report, L E Bourne said,
“Our many programmes aimed at promoting a positive
attitude to ageing and involving older people, not only require finance,
but would not operate at all without an army of wholly supportive and
committed volunteers. We are blessed with active, keen, energetic and
knowledgeable men and women willing to offer an hour, a half-day or whole
day(s) in supporting our services and strategies for meeting the Mission
Statement. On behalf of the Board of Management, I thank all our volunteers
- It may be hard work and at times discouraging when seeking financial aid
and support, but to achieve our aims money is not enough, we need the
continued support of volunteers.
One of the highlights of the year is the Volunteers
Lunch. It provides the opportunity for us to meet with volunteers in a
social setting, to say thank you and to record their support and success.
Every year, our President, the Mayor of Solihull joins us, presents the
Certificates, and meets as many of our volunteers as possible. I know that
our current President, Cllr Gary Allport found last summer’s event a
wonderful celebration of our work.”
Chief Executive, Anne Hastings, said,
“I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge
thank you to all my colleagues who make working for Age Concern Solihull
such a joy – talented and committed staff, supportive and hard working
Trustees and dedicated volunteers who give so generously of their time,
energy and expertise. I look
forward to working with you all to meet the challenges of the future.”
