Fit As A Fiddle

Fit As A FiddleOver 50s in Solihull can get 'Fit As A Fiddle' !

People over 50 in Solihull are being encouraged to get fit by taking part in activities across the region.

Fit As A Fiddle is a major programme funded by a £15 million grant from the Big Lottery Fund and launched by Age Concern to help older people all over England live more healthy, active and fulfilling lives.

Fit As A Fiddle activities in Solihull include:

  • Extend classes (gentle exercise and movement to popular and traditional music, part seated and part 'up and about' so the class can be adapted for wheelchair users)
  • Tai Chi, Yoga and Extend (for residents in residential settings)
  • Craft Clubs
  • Talks on healthy eating delivered by a dietician from Solihull Primary Care Trust

If you are interested in joining a Fit As A Fiddle activity, or interested in becoming a volunteer (and are from a fitness or nutritional background) please contact the Fit As A Fiddle Project Co-ordinator, Tracy Curtis, on 0121 705 9128 or email Fit As A Fiddle .
